Vape batteries power mods and some pod devices, and the two numbers that matter are capacity (mAh) and continuous discharge rating (CDR). This guide explains both, compares the 18650 cells we stock and covers safe use. Adults 21+ only.

Choosing vape batteries: capacity and CDR
Capacity in mAh tells you how long the battery lasts on one charge. CDR, in amps, is the current it can safely supply continuously. Choose a CDR that meets or exceeds what your device draws, even if that means a lower capacity. Never pick a battery on mAh alone.
18650 batteries we stock
| Battery | Capacity | Chemistry | CDR | Max pulse |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| EFEST 18650 IMR 3000mAh | 3000mAh | IMR (lithium manganese) | 20A | 35A |
| AWT 18650 IMR 3500mAh Rainbow | 3500mAh | IMR (lithium manganese) | 10A | 35A |
Both are listed as flat-top, 3.7V nominal. Specifications are from the product listings; check the page for the current stock.
Device batteries
Some pod systems use a swappable battery base. The OXBAR Maglink Battery 1500mAh is listed as the reusable base for OXBAR Maglink pods, with Type-C charging, pass-through support and a digital display. Browse the full range in vape accessories.

What 18650 means
An 18650 is a cylindrical lithium-ion cell about 18mm across and 65mm long, the size used in many mods. The two cells we list are both IMR (lithium manganese) flat-top batteries at 3.7V nominal. IMR chemistry is chosen for high-drain use because it can supply current continuously without the cell overheating as easily as some other types.
Capacity versus CDR on our two cells
The AWT 3500mAh lists 17 percent more capacity than the EFEST 3000mAh, but a 10A continuous rating against 20A. In other words, the AWT lasts longer on a charge while the EFEST can safely feed a more demanding device. Both list a 35A maximum pulse. Check your device manual for its maximum draw and choose a cell whose CDR is at or above it.
Pairs and charging
Mods that take two cells need a matched pair of the same brand, model and age, kept together and charged together. Charge on a proper external charger, do not leave charging cells unattended and stop using any cell that gets hot, swells or has a torn wrap.
Vape battery FAQs
Can I use any 18650 in my mod?
No. Match the cell CDR to the device and use only cells your manual allows.
Is higher mAh always better?
No. Capacity is run time. CDR is the safety limit, so never pick on mAh alone.
Where do I store spare cells?
In a plastic case, never loose in a pocket or bag with keys or coins.
Battery safety
Use batteries only in devices rated for them, keep cells in a case, never mix old and new cells and stop using a battery with damaged wrap. See the general background on lithium-ion batteries. If you are unsure about ratings, message us on WhatsApp. For tanks to pair with a mod see vape tanks, and for coil ratings read the coil resistance guide.
