Design and how to use it
The IP rating describes dust, water and shock resistance in the maker listing. The Mini 5 is a tank kit for higher power, while the Hero 5 uses a pod. New to kits? Read our beginner pod kits guide.
Value for money
At AED 170 the Aegis Hero 5 is the lower-priced kit, and the Aegis Mini 5 at AED 210 adds a bigger battery and up to 100W output.
Mini 5 versus Hero 5 on the listed numbers
The Mini 5 lists a 3200mAh battery against 2000mAh on the Hero 5, which is 60 percent more capacity, and up to 100W against 50W. Its 5ml tank holds 1ml more than the 4ml pod. The price gap is AED 40, so the Mini 5 costs about 24 percent more than the Hero 5. The Hero 5 lists the higher dust and water rating, IP68 against IP67, so the rugged claim does not favour the dearer kit. Check each product page for the full rating wording.
Compared with other kits

GeekVape Aegis review verdict: who it suits
The Aegis Mini 5 suits users who want a rugged 100W tank kit, while the Hero 5 suits those who want a tougher pod kit at 50W.
Which Aegis to pick
Choose the Mini 5 if you want the larger battery and the higher power ceiling and are happy to carry a bigger device. Choose the Hero 5 if you prefer a simple pod, a lower price and the IP68 listing. Neither is a beginner starter at these power levels.
Who should look elsewhere
If you want a low-power starter, see the beginner pod kits guide.
